The successful candidate will be diligent with a proven track record in Full-Stack Software/Web Development. The self-driven and self-motivated candidate will be responsible for collaborating with our other Engineering teams from Japan and Global, Product/Design teams, to not only develop, but also help define and improve the products (Software, Web), addressing the specific needs of our increasing Japanese market. Must-have Requirements:
- PHP and MySQL experience (Laravel)
- Modern JavaScript (ES6+) and the experience with Vue, Nuxt, and Node
- CSS and the inspiration/sense of turning designs to CSS
- DRY code with automated tests and value readability and simplicity.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding the value of code review and willingness to pratice with the team.
- Writing complex SQL query from scratch as using an ORM.
- Experience in working with and refactoring legacy codebases.
- Experience in architecting and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
Good to have:
- Interests in consumer APIs, Backend for Frontend (BFF), Hybrid web apps
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Circle CI or similar)
- Working knowledge of common AWS services (EC2, API Gateway, Lambda, Cloudfront, S3, etc)
- TypeScript experience, particularly migration from ES6 JavaScript
- Exposure to Swift and/or Kotlin
- Fluent in Japanese Portrait
